Mike "Stan" Stanislawski, Class of '79

Hi Baker Lions!

My freshman year I played football and basketball. I played JV basketball my junior year. In my senior year, I joined the Ecology Club and DCT. It was in my senior year when I met Dianne Wilson, my high school sweetheart. Dianne went to summer school to graduate a year early and we got married in March, 1980. I joined the Air Force in September, 1981. Our son, Mark, was born Feb, 1983 while we were stationed at Clark Air Base, Philippines. Monica, our daughter, was born May, 1985 while we were stationed at Myrtle Beach Air Force Base, S.C.

I spent nine years in the Air Force, during which time I was a Helicopter Flight Engineer and a Weapons Crew Chief. I got out of the Air Force in August, 1990.

In 1991, we moved back to Columbus where I took a job at Swift Denim working nights (12 hr shifts). While at Swift, I went back to school at Columbus State University from where I graduated in June, 1997 with a B.S. in Health & Physical Education. I began teaching P.E. at Pine Ridge Elementary in the fall of 1997 where I started their first Jump Rope Team. In addition to teaching, I'm also the Head Coach of the Girls' Fast Pitch Softball team at Harris County High School. I've also served as the Assistant Coach of the Boy's Baseball team at Harris County High School. I'm currently enjoying my first summer vacation and preparing for the upcoming softball season in July. I'm seriously considering taking on the task of putting together our 20th class reunion. If anyone would like to give their input on this reunion, please e-mail me at MIKE15333@aol.com.

June, 1998
